HOW ENERGY HEALING CAN SUPPORT OUR HORMONES IN PERI MENOPAUSE

In this blog, I want to being to your attention to the profound interplay between hormones and energy healing modalities, such as Bio Energy Healing, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Dowsing. These transformative practices offer not only a deeper understanding of hormonal dynamics but also practical tools to navigate hormonal imbalances with grace and resilience.

FIRST A CRASH COURSE IN HORMONES

When it comes to Peri Menopause you may be familiar with the conversation around Estrogen, Testosterone and Progesterone. Being labelled our sex hormones, it's easy to understand why many of us would think their role in the body is confined to the reproductive system

In fact each hormone has many functions in the body.  For example did you know that Estrogen is a powerful anti inflammatory hormone, she also looks after your bones and your heart. Testosterone helps with memory, clarity and motivation. Progesterone calms us down and helps us sleep.

You can see why chaos ensues when these hormoneS start to leave the body in perimenopause

But there are 3 other hormones we really need to understand. In fact in the world of hormones there is a hierarchy and we need to be aware of the top 6

The bottom 3 are Estrogen, Testosterone and Progesterone

Just above Estrogen comes Cortisol

Coristol gives us energy and focus to get out of dangerous situations. It’s meant to be a temporary intervention. The problem for most of us is that we live our lives rushing from A to B and our bodies respond with a continuous stream of cortisol. Too much cortisol prevents our sex hormone team from doing their jobs and so we are left inflamed, exhausted and unable to relax or sleep.

Above Cortisol in the Hormone chain stands Insulin. Insulin is a magnificent hormone. She brings glucose from our food to the cells for energy. The unfortunate thing about today’s world is that most of us are addicted to sugar and therefore we have too much insulin. This disrupts our cortisol, and sex hormones and leaves us with poor energy, low mood, lack of focus and pain.

But I have good news! At the top comes a beautiful hormone called Oxytocin. Oxytocin is released when we experience love and joy. Studies have shown we can increase our oxytocin level massively with a hug or a kiss, with rubbing animals, laughing, dancing and singing! What a wonderful way to self medicate…simply prioritise your joy!

 

SO WHERE DOES ENERGY HEALING FIT IN

Energy Healing can help balance the top 3 hormones in the following ways

  1. Bio Energy Healing opens the Heart Centre. When we experience trauma or pain we often instinctively close the heart centre in an effort to protect ourselves. This stops the flow of energy and leads to ill health. In opening the heart centre we reintroduce the frequency of joy and hope and this most likely will lead to the good old dose of Oxytocin! Over the years I have witnessed many of my clients move from anxiety and depression to peace and joy.

 

  1. The only way to reduce an over supply of Insulin is to balance your blood sugars. This needs to be done through diet and exercise but for many of us, our addiction to processed food and sugar makes creating a healthy lifestyle feel too hard. Through EFT (Tapping) we can identify the limiting beliefs around making healthy change. For example in my own healing journey with food I discovered that I held a belief that was inherited from my hungry ancestors. This belief had left me with a fear of being hungry! When we healed the belief I no longer panicked about food. Like wise a memory of humiliation in PE class as a child has held me back from trying new opportunities for fitness throughout my adult life. EFT cleared this fear of failure for me

 

  1. Now let's talk about Cortisol. I think we all know we need to reduce stress but what if you’ve tried everything. You’ve cut back your working hours. Enlisted the help of a  child minder or cleaner. Brought walking, yoga, meditation etc  into your life…..and you still feel on high alert all the time. Sometimes the source of our stress is hidden in our energy system in the form of trapped emotions, limiting beliefs and ancestral trauma. In my own clinic I have seen how, with dowsing to clear birth trauma in an adult can transform how their nervous system feels.

When we have a good dose of Oxytocin, balanced Insulin and balanced Cortisol, all the rest of our hormones can support us as they are designed to. Even when our sex hormones leave the building after Menopause, the top 3 can keep us on track in many ways. By embracing the wisdom of our bodies and the healing modalities that honor the interplay between mind, body, and spirit, we reclaim agency over our health and well-being.  Isn't that fantastic!
